Policy Overview

Harmony begins with understanding what's expected

What to expect...

Semesters

Year-round opportunities to grow through music, one semester at a time

  • Our choir is offered in three distinct semesters: Summer, Fall, and Winter.
    • Summer: June 10th– End of August
    • Fall: September – December
    • Winter: January – May

Rehearsals

Every voice matters. Every rehearsal counts.

  • Day and Time:
    • Summer Semester - Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30
    • Fall and Winter Semesters - Tuesdays, 4:00-5:00
  • Rehearsal Location: Meckel Christiansen's residence - 7480 Orange Plains Dr. Sparks, NV 89436
  • Rehearsals will begin and end on time, so please be punctual.
  • If we must cancel a class, families will be notified via email or text.

Absences

When you miss, we all miss you.

  • Summer Up to 2 absences are allowed
  • Fall/Spring: Up to 3 absences are allowed

Because each singer is an important part of our group, consistent attendance is essential. If a student has more than the allowed number of absences, they may not be fully prepared to perform with the group. In some cases, this could mean sitting out of a performance or stepping away from the session. Unfortunately, tuition is non-refundable, as our planning and instruction are based on full enrollment.

Tuition

Supporting your child's journey toward musical excellence and powerful performance.

    • $235 due by first rehearsal or 2 payments of $120 due June 9th and July 8th

  • Fall and Winter Tuition

    • Option to pay for the semester in full by first practice to receive $10 discount
    • Discounts may be applied for siblings - contact for more information
  • Tuition is not prorated for absences
  • Late payments will incur a $5 late fee
  • Accepted payment methods: check or Zelle

Behavior Expectations

Behavior sets the rhythm for growth

At Sierra Heights Harmony, we believe that how we act is just as important as how we sing.

We expect all singers to:

  • Listen and follow directions
  • Use kind words and actions
  • Stay focused and participate respectfully
  • Keep hands and bodies to themselves

If a student is disruptive:

  • They will receive up to 3 verbal warnings
  • After the third warning, a parent will be called to pick them up early and asked to attend the following rehearsal with the child.

Performances

Where practice meets the spotlight

  • Summer Semester includes 3 performances during the last couple of weeks of August.
  • Fall and Winter Semesters include 3 performances each.
  • The final performance of each session is a special event for friends and family.

Costumes

A unified look for a unified sound

  • Students will perform in simple, polished costumes.
  • Families will be responsible for purchasing costumes.
    • Outfit details -including when and where to purchase - will be shared during the semester.
    • We thoughtfully select attire that looks great on stage and can be worn beyond performances.
