Policy Overview
Harmony begins with understanding what's expected
What to expect...
Semesters
Year-round opportunities to grow through music, one semester at a time
- Our choir is offered in two distinct semesters: Fall and Spring.
- Fall: August – Beginning of December
- Spring: January – End of May
Rehearsals
Every voice matters. Every rehearsal counts.
- Day and Time:
- Fall and Spring Semesters - Tuesdays, 4:00-5:15
- Rehearsal Location: Meckel Christiansen's residence - 7480 Orange Plains Dr. Sparks, NV 89436
- Rehearsals will begin and end on time, so please be punctual.
- If we must cancel a class, families will be notified via email or text.
- Rehearsal attendance is mandatory - students are allowed 2 absences (not during the final 3 weeks of the semester). In the event of a 3rd we will need to discuss participation.
Because each singer is an important part of our group, consistent attendance is essential. If a student has more than the allowed number of absences, they may not be fully prepared to perform with the group. In some cases, this could mean sitting out of a performance or stepping away from the session. They will also not be eligible for solos. Tuition is non-refundable, as our planning and instruction are based on full enrollment.
Final Three-Week Attendance Policy
Great performances happen when we prepare together.
Attendance at all Rehearsals, Dress Rehearsals, and Performances during the final three weeks of the semester are mandatory.

Enrollment in Sierra Heights Harmony is a semester-long commitment. If a choir member withdraws at any point in the semester, the full remaining tuition will be immediately due.
Behavior Expectations
Behavior sets the rhythm for growth
At Sierra Heights Harmony, we believe that how we act is just as important as how we sing.
We expect all singers to:
- Listen and follow directions
- Use kind words and actions
- Stay focused and participate respectfully
- Keep hands and bodies to themselves
- Use provided music and videos to practice at home
If a student is disruptive:
- They will receive up to 3 verbal warnings
- After the third warning, a parent will be called to pick them up early and asked to attend the following rehearsal with the child.
Performances
Where practice meets the spotlight
- Fall and Spring Semesters include 4-6 performances each.
- Each semester we will have a special performance for friends and family.
- All Dress Rehearsals and Performances are mandatory.
Costumes
A unified look for a unified sound
- Students will perform in simple, polished costumes.
- Families will be responsible for purchasing costumes.
- Outfit details -including when and where to purchase - will be shared during the semester.
- We thoughtfully select attire that looks great on stage and can be worn beyond performances.
